About Us Membership   |   FAQ   |   Mission   |   Notices   |   Privacy Policy   |   Press Releases   Chartered in 1936, California Pacific Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit, full service financial institution, led by an unpaid, volunteer Board of Directors. Originally formed by and for the refinery workers of what is now the Tesoro Golden Eagle Refinery, founding members had a real understanding of the hard work that goes into earning each and every dollar. Thus, the credit union was established to encourage members to save by offering fair dividend rates on deposits and then to utilize those deposits to offer credit union members loans at competitively-low rates. When safety requirements required moving the credit union outside of the refinery gates, we expanded eligibility for membership to include select employer groups that wanted to offer credit union membership as an employment benefit. Later, our charter was expanded again to make membership available to anyone who lives, works, conducts business, attends school or worships in the greater area of Contra Costa County, including the following cities: Concord, Clyde, Clayton, Martinez, Pacheco, Bay Point, Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley, Brentwood, Discovery Bay, Knightsen, Bethel Island, and parts of Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek. Our growth has not changed the great value we place on building strong, long lasting relationships with each and every member. As part of our efforts in doing so, we pledge to provide personal and professional service delivered by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Our members take pride in our community involvement. In recognition of our efforts to establish supportive and collaborative business relationships, the credit union was awarded the Business of the Year Award from the Martinez Chamber of Commerce and the Contra Costa Council of Small Business. Each year, the credit union contributes numerous volunteer hours and supports fundraising efforts benefiting local non-profits and schools. Among those are the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, Junior Achievement, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Friends of Faith. Members and the community we serve have benefited from free programs developed to increase financial literacy and wealth building skills. In 2011, California Pacific FCU celebrates 75 years of service to our members. Now much larger and over 6,000 members strong. Our members continue to share a strong common bond – they work hard for their money. Our foundation in the credit union philosophy, “Not for profit, not for charity, but for service,” continues to guide us in products and services we offer and in the highly competitive pricing we strive to maintain.
